We hold to a Presbetyrian church government. This means that elders (also called presbyters) govern the local church. They are also elected by the people.
There are two kinds of elders: teaching and ruling elders. Teaching elders are pastors. Their main responsibility is to the ministry of the Word of God. Ruling elders partner with teaching elders in governing the local church. (See Acts 20:17; Titus 15-7.)
The elders sit in a “session.” This session has the oversight of the faith and life of the local church congregation.
